Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.
A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to drinking water, per reports from city officials.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.
Moscow has increased strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.
"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a social media post.
Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets attacked the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.
The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to restore power.
A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.
Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, according to local officials.
Local officials said the urban area endured heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.
The assaults come after periods of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.
All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.
National leaders told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.
He said technical personnel and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
